Subject: Marriage Again

If we are going to have marriage according to the bible, let's go all the way -

The Presidential Prayer Team is currently urging us to:

"Pray for the President as he seeks wisdom on how to legally codify the Definition of marriage. Pray that it will be according to Biblical principles. With any forces insisting on variant definitions of marriage, pray that God's Word and His standards will be honored by our government."

Any religious person believes prayer should be balanced by action. So here, in support of the Prayer Team's admirable goals, is a proposed Constitutional Amendment to codify marriage based on biblical principles:

A. Marriage in the United States shall consist of a union between one man and one or more women. (Gen 29:17-28; II Sam 3:2-5)

B. Marriage shall not impede a man's right to take concubines, in addition to his wife or wives (II Sam 5:13; I Kings 11:3; II Chron 11:21)

C. A marriage shall be considered valid only if the wife is a virgin. If the wife is not a virgin, she shall be executed. (Deut 22:13-21)

D. Marriage of a believer and a non-believer shall be forbidden. (Gen 24:3; Num 25:1-9; Ezra 9:12; Neh 10:30)

E. Since marriage is for life, neither this Constitution nor the constitution of any state, nor any state or federal law, shall be construed to permit divorce. (Deut 22:19; Mark 10:9)

F. If a married man dies without children, his brother shall marry the widow. If he refuses to marry his brother's widow or deliberately does not give her children, he shall pay a fine of one shoe. (Gen. 38:6-10; Deut 25:5-10)

Also there are a few other issues I'd like to see our government address:
1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev. 1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev. 15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. passage clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? - Lev. 24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

  • State Of The World

If we are to last as a culture we must begin to accept that we are all equal. This basic concept is the base for all Democratic societies. there is not one free country in the world that does not have, in their charter or constitution, this basic concept. Why? If the civilized nations of the world believe this to be true, is there such a proliferation of hate groups cropping up all across the Internet. These groups, composed of people who believe that certain races are responsible for all the ill's of the world, are what we must fight against. the ignorance I see put forth by these people is astounding. To believe that some one, because they are different in look or belief, is worth less than someone else is horrible. What are they afraid of, because it must be fear that causes this, coupled with extreme ignorance of course. I hope someday to be able to say, with certainty, that we have out grown this irrational hatred of others and are ready to truly take our place as champions of human rights. After all, that's why this country was founded. Peace to all, Andy

Hey everyone: Well NY has finaly gotten springlike(thank God) it almost seemed that we were stuck in winter for a while. But it's warmer now and it feels great. I only wish we could bring our troop's home in time for summer, but it seems our leaders have other plans( Like we did'nt know). All we can do is keep them in our hearts and minds and let them know we care. Remember, they are there because they have to be, not because they want to. Although I guess some of them like what they are doing, I'm sure most would rather be with their loved ones rather than dodging bullets. Remember to keep them in your prayers and help them stay safe. Peace.

  • State Of The World Not Good
I saw a news program the other day about how little the milatary pays its soldiers. The minimum needed to support a family of 4 or 5 these days is around 5'000 dollars a month, and thats no frills survival. The military pays about half that. Why? These men and women leave there families, risk their lives, and their families have to go on welfare and get food from food banks?????? WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG HERE,excuse the language people but this is WRONG!!! these families should never want for anything EVER!! Isnt it enough that they wait in fear that the door bell will ring it will be some uniformed man at the door with a Chaplain bringing them the worst possibl news, That their son, daughter, husband , or wife will never walk through the door again! It's time we payed them, not only in benifits after they get out, but while they're in, and allow the families to live a normal live. Its the least we can do. Peace

I dont know about you but I am getting really @#%^ing ticked off at the stupid pop ups that keep interrupting my typing. If I want commercials I'll watch TV, even pop up blockers dont work all the time. If Bush wants to do something good with is tenure in office let him propose mandatory life without parole for spammers and others that harass us when we're trying to relax and have some fun. That said, I cant wait for summer, mostly because it's that much closer to November and we will have a new President soon after. Just remember, use your vote and change the way this country is run. Peace,

THE WAR ON TERRORISM

  • Mood: Amused
Listening to our President yesterday I was struck by how many questions he talked around. It seems every time he did'nt want to answer he would bring twist it around so it seemed like he was,but it was all "double-speak" as George Orwell would have put it. The guy spoke forever and said nothing of any import.I cant wait for him to be questioned by the 9/11 commission and hear what he says to them. The American peaple want answers and we want them now. But I guess thats to much to ask of a man with an IQ of under 100. (Yale?) yeah right George, how much did it cost Daddy to pay off the dean.

Why am I here

  • Mood: Thoughtful
I have started to wonder why I am doing this. Is it to let others know how I feel, or just to vent. It seems every time I get on my PC my thoughts change to quickly to put them all down. But such is life. I was watching the news the other day and what I saw truly sickened me. It seems that every where you look people are finding new ways to hurt, maim, and otherwise abuse each other. What would a race of superior beings think of us. SETI is trying to contact other worlds as we speak, WHY?, what could a species more advanced than us possibly want with a planet vthat seems to be bent on its own destruction.(except maybe to use us as an example of what not to do). Are we that arrogant that we think we are better that everyone else. Lets hope whoever they contact out there has a good sense of humor

How Many Have To Die!!!

How many American lives have to die before we start leaving others alone. I for one, am sick of our leaders getting us involved in things we have no business being involved in, Ok,ok, saddam was an asshole I know, but he was'nt responsible for 9/11, Bin Laden was. We got hussien, but Bin boy is still out there, Whats up with that, should'nt we be trying a little harder to find him instead of being mired down in Iraq.
